Dr. Scott W. Wolfe

Hand Surgery

   
Dr. Wolfe received his M.D. degree from the Johns Hopkins University. He served his residencies, from 1984 to 1985 in General Surgery at the Roosevelt Hospital General Surgery and from 1986 to 1989 at The Hospital for Special Surgery. He was Annie C. Kane Hand and Microsurgical Fellow, at the New York Orthopaedic Hospital, Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with Certificate of Added Qualifications, Surgery of the Hand. He is also certified in Microsurgery by the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. He is an expert in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery.

Dr. Wolfe was Chief of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Yale University for the previous ten years. He currently serves as Associate Director of Clinical Research at the Alberto Vilar Center for Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery, The Hospital for Special Surgery. His main areas of clinical interest include the following: Wrist reconstruction Scaphoid Fractures, Distal radius fractures, Peripheral nerve reconstruction, Brachial Plexus injury, Erb's palsy, Tendon repair, transfer, reconstruction.

Dr. Wolfe has a large research activity. He has been honoured with the Dean's Research Prize for Orthopaedic Research, by the Cornell University Medical College in 1984, the T. Campbell Thompson Award for Orthopaedic Excellence by The Hospital for Special Surgery and Cornell University Medical College in1984, the Wayne O. Southwick Teaching Award in 1992 and in 1996. He was also honoured by the American Society for Surgery of the Hand in 1997.
