Dr. Anthony M. D'Alessandro

Dr. D'Alessandro received his M.D. degree from the Hahnemann University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1981. After graduating, he spent the next years gaining precious specialist experience. He served his Internship as well as his Residency in General Surgery at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, from 1981 to1987. Dr. D'Alessandro performed his Transplantation Research Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, from 1984 to1985. He afterwards served a Transplantation and Clinical Research Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, from 1987 to 1989. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and in surgical critical care.

Dr. D'Alessandro currently holds the position of Professor at the Division of Transplantation at the University of Wisconsin, in Madison. His special areas of clinical practice are small bowel and multi-organ transplants. He also has a large research activity, focusing on liver and small bowel preservation for transplantation.

Dr. D'Alessandro is widely recognized for his surgical skills, in the United States. He was chosen by his peers to be included in the Best Doctors In America, in the edition of 1999.
